Type Locality and Naming
Named after the village of Oltayauz, upper reaches of the Kurpasay stream, Malyguzar Mountains. I.A. Kim et al., 1995. Stratotype in the middle course of the Kurpasay stream, 1 km north of the village of Oltayauz.
Synonym: Oltayauz Suite, Олтиаузская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Upper part of the section (thickness 50m) - biogenic sparry limestones, medium-thick bedded, gray, dark gray
Middle part (thickness 90m) - bioclastic limestones, gray with lenticular interbeds and concretions of brown siliceous rocks.
Base of the section (thickness 110m) - rhythmically thin-bedded micritic gray and black limestones with greenish-gray siliceous rocks and rare siltstone (aleurolites).

Regional extent
Malyguzar Mountains, from the basin of the Kurpasay stream in the west to the Kuduksay in the east.

Fossils
Upper part – with conodonts - Idiognathodus cf. sinuatus Harr. et Holl., I. cf. corragatus (Harr. et Hol.), I. cf. sulcatus Mip., characteristic of Lower Bashkirian deposits and Gondolella sp., Idiognathodus sp., Streptognathodus sp. - for Moscovian deposits. From the tectonic block of limestones of the upper part on the left bank of the Ishikdarysay stream, microfauna was determined - Eotuberitina reitlingerae M.-Macl., Tuberitina rotundata Reitl., Tolypammina fortis Reitl., forms widespread in the Upper Bashkirian-Lower Moscovian subhorizon.
Middle part – Contains conodonts - Gnathodus cf. bilineatus bollamdensis Hig., Paragnathodus cf. cruciformis Clarke, characteristic of Upper Visean and Serpukhovian deposits.
Base of the section – Contains late Tournaisian-Visean conodonts - Scaliognathus anchoralis Br. et M., Gnathodus typicus Coop., G. texanus Roun.
